My goal as an artist is to expand and reach as many people as possible. Naturally, I found myself in an Arts Education program with University of Florida's graduate school. This is the first curricula I have created in this program with the intention of brining this to community centers, incarcerated programming, and/or alternative schooling environments. It was created with Choice-Based pedagogy in mind as well as the aim of creating a culturally responsive and inclusive environment where learners self-assess and engage in peer discussions and feedback regularly, to center the learner and provide them as much agency as possible to encourage their curiosity and exploration of the arts.
I am currently primarily inspired by organizations and individuals such as RTA.org, Viktor Lowenfeld, Edith Kramer, David Choe, and others.
Below are two lesson examples from this unit.
